Billic - A bit of a worry
Now I loved last season, let me get that in first but is anyone else a little bit worried about this season and our manager? Two major things are sticking out for me, the first is obviously pushing Antonio to right back when he is a winger but the other point, that seems to be swept under the carpet, is that it is now two players he has fallen out with. First Amafitano and now Sakho. Quite a worrying trait in a manager and I hope it is not going to be an ongoing issue. Lets be honest Sakho is our best striker and we are crying out for one at the moment... I just feel that there shouldn't be big issues between players and manager.

So if players act like bellends they should be allowed to get away with it?

No chance, they should be frozen out so everyone else knows who is boss.

Sakho isn't our best striker.

Yeah it really affected Ferguson, falling out with players who thought they were bigger than the club.

Re: Billic - A bit of a worry
Rubbish.

The most succcessful manager of the modern era is Sir Alex Ferguson.

He fell out with plenty of players.

Slav strikes me as a very tolerant manager. I'm sure he gives every player all of the opportunity they need to fall in line with the rest of the team - But ultimately, they have to fall in line, and if they can't then he will be ruthless.

I respect that - He seems a very human manager, but he clearly puts the team ethos above everything else. Once a player decides they're more important than the team, he's got 2 choices. Change their position or leave the club.

We do need a striker otherwise I fear we will struggle to score enough goals.
Also agree about Antonio but you only had to look at Amalfitano to realise he was a moody arrogant type and it's pretty obvious that Sakho is a twat.

Re: Billic - A bit of a worry
i'd be more worried about the fact he thinks Ayew is going to solve the centre forward problem.

if our business is done we are reliant on
AC
Calleri
Ayew

that worries me much more.

The falling out with Amalfitano and Sakho doesn't bother me in the slightest, in fact I welcome it cause I think you need a strong manager that shows we wont take no shit and nobody is bigger than the club. I welcome the approach Slav has on this. If Sakho wants to come back to Bilic and apologise and in front of the team then he's welcome back in my opinion but until that happens then he can do one!

Striker issue is a bit of a worry. You only have to look at Arsenal to see its not easy no matter what your status to attract a solid name!

I agree. In a different but related vein, whether we wanted him to or not, he gave people like Kevin Nolan the chance to contribute and when he could not moved him on.

Seeing that with Valencia I think this preseason.

Re: Billic - A bit of a worry
I think no matter what your opinion of Valencia and if he wants to leave or not, I commend hi mfor getting his head down and continuing to work hard for the team, something Sakho clearly doesn't want to do.

As much as anything else, Sakho has already been given a second chance - which he's blown.

Re: Billic - A bit of a worry
Not in the least bit worried about falling out with certain players ~ far from it!

I don't think he's the sort of bloke to take any shit from anyone. Good for him. Do it his way or do one

I have a feeling that he might actually get Sakho sorted out too ~ one way or the other

I am rather concerned about Antonio playing at RB though. Hopefully, I'll be proved wrong

Although Antonio has played a handful of good games at RB, I'd hate to think how many goals we've conceded & are likely to continue to concede because of Antonio's lack of positional sense

There have been gaping great holes in the RB area for months. It's an even greater concern now that Tomkins & JOB have left

Re: Billic - A bit of a worry
I want a Manager who is prepared to fall out with players, and not some melt in charge. I should imagine he's quite tolerant as a Manager, but won't abide
